Mary Goyne and Bill Musselman say they're trying to locate their daughter, Brittney Musselman, who told them the afternoon of July 25 that she was going to a friend's house but never arrived there and didn't come home that evening.
The girl, 15, is 4-11 and weighs 105 pounds.
Goyne said Brittney hung around Cramer's Home Center, where Goyne works, the afternoon of July 25, then asked he she could go to a friend's house. The two discussed dinner plans, Goyne said.
Brittney didn't show up at the friend's home, said Goyne, who said she learned July 26 that Brittney was spotted later that evening at a youth rally in Civic League Park. She said she's hopeful the girl still is in the Omak area.
Goyne, who is Brittney's step-mother, said she and Musselman have checked with the girl's friends and reported Brittney's disappearance to the Omak Police, Okanogan County Sheriff's Office and Washington State Patrol. They said she's considered a runaway, though she doesn't have a history of running away.
Reflecting back on the past few days, Goyne said they're worried Brittney, who was adopted, may have planned her disappearance and are concerned she might want to head to Oregon to look for her birth mother.
They said anyone who has seen Brittney is asked to call them at 322-0047 or 322-4633.
