Omak, Okanogan set spring cleanup schedule
Sunrise Disposal will pick up yard debris in Okanogan Saturday, April 5, and in Omak the following Saturday, April 12, for spring cleanups.
For both towns, there will be no limit on the number of bags or bundles you put out for Sunrise Disposal to pick up.
In Okanogan, residents may obtain seven (7) free yard bags at city hall on Friday, March 21.
The bags or bundles must not exceed 60 pounds. All limbs and branches must be securely tied in bundles to facilitate handling by the pick up crews.
Acceptable yard debris includes leaves, grass clippings, weeds and small branches and trimmings.
All limbs and branches must be cut in four-foot pieces, no larger than three inches in diameter.
Unacceptable waste includes fence posts, boards, plywood, tires, any plastic or metal, large branches or tree stumps, hazardous waste (paint, toxic cleaners or chemicals), and any garbage that is not natural vegetation.
Place all yard debris where you normally set your garbage cans on the night of Friday, April 4, in Okanogan, and Friday, April 11, in Omak.
The cities hope all residential and commercial customers will take advantage of the free opportunity, said press releases.
Those with questions can call Okanogan City Hall at 422-3600 or Omak City Hall at 826-1170.
