Special church services offered Easter weekend
OMAK (Omak Presbyterian Church)
The Omak Presbyterian Church will hold various services for Holy Week, according to an announcement.
First, a Maundy Thursday Service will be held March 20 at 7 p.m., observing The Lord's Supper. The Westminster Hand Bell Choir will provide an extended Prelude starting at 6:40. Visitors and members can participate in a traditional Lord's Supper. Soprano Becky Corson will perform "The Holy City," the announcement said.
Also, the Church will be open from noon to 3 p.m. on Good Friday, March 21, the hours Jesus hung on the Cross, the announcement said. Anyone can stop by the church for quiet meditation and prayer. At 7 p.m., the church will hold a worship service. Babysitting will be provided for both nights.
Sunday's Easter celebration will start with a worship service at 10:45 a.m., with Sunday school for all ages at 9:30 a.m., according to the announcement.
The church is located at 9 South Birch, Omak. For more information, call 826-1290.
OMAK (Christians in Action)
Christians in Action will hold an inter-denominational Easter Sunrise Service Sunday, March 23, from 6:30 to 7 a.m. at the Omak Memorial Cemetery on Elmway behind Precht-Harrison Funeral Home, according to an announcement from Kathleen Christensen, board president.
Rev. Bill King of Okanogan First Baptist Church will deliver the message. Don Pearce, the new Omak School music director, and his wife, Lyn, will lead congregational singing.
The event is free and open to the public. Seating is provided; participants should dress warmly.
TONASKET
The Tonasket Community Church will observe Lent and Easter during three separate services at their church, located at 24 E. Fourth, according to a church announcement.
For Easter Sunday, March 23 at 11 a.m., wonderful music selections and inspiring spoken word will define Easter Sunday Worship at the church. "Come With Me To The Garden," featuring our young singers, will commence the worship service followed shortly by a second youthful expression, "Little Innocent Lamb."
Services for Palm Sunday and Holy Thursday were held March 16 and 20.
Another highlight of the celebration will be the presentation of a mini-cantata of scripture and song, "Glory to the Risen King," a composition by Douglas Wagner, the announcement said.
LOOMIS
The Loomis Community Church invites the public to "Meet us at the Cross" for its annual Easter Sunday Sunrise Service and church service, according to an announcement.
The sunrise service will be held at the cross two miles up Horse Spring Coulee Road at the west end of Spectacle Lake at 7 a.m. March 23. At 8 a.m., they will reconvene at the Loomis Church for a free breakfast.
