‘Beauty and the Beast’ cast announced; Wood, Harriman get title leads
Carine Wood and Kim Harriman will portray Beauty and the Beast, respectively, in the Okanogan Valley Orchestra and Chorus fall production of Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast.”
Auditions were held April 17-19 in Omak.
Organizers termed the audition process “a stunning success.”
They sorted through 52 teens and adults who tried out for 11 lead roles.
That made for “many difficult decisions because everyone did such an amazing job,” said spokeswoman Tia Wooley. “However, we are excited to have such exceptional talent to fill in all of the chorus and supporting roles as well.”
Another 55 children were selected for the chorus.
“Everyone, young and old, who wanted a part, got one, and the part of Chip will be chosen from that group” of kids, she said.
“With a talented cast of 115, it will be a costumer’s nightmare and a director’s dream, though we’re all very be happy to be put to the test,” said Wooley.
