A Serve Safe course offered will be offered from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, at the Okanogan County Public Health office in the Public Services Building, Okanogan.
The Washington Restaurant Association provides this advanced food safety certification course to protect customers from food-borne illness, reduce the risk of health code violations that can result in fines or closure, and to extend an individual's food handler card to a five-year period, according to a health district announcement.
Registration fee for the class is $125 for Washington Restaurant Association members (FSA, Sysco or Bargreen-Ellingson customers) and $190 for non-members, according to the announcement.
Registration forms and fees must be submitted to the association by Wednesday, April 30, so that course materials are available to study before the class, according to the announcement.
Registration forms can be completed online at www.wrahome.com or by mail. Paper registration forms are available at the Okanogan County Public Health office.
More information is available at www.wrahome.com or from Mike Harr, (509) 422-7155 or mharr@co.okanogan.wa.us.
