Okanogan County Democrats interested in running for either of the two Okanogan County commissioner positions up for election this fall must attend a nominating caucus at noon Saturday, May 3, at Sun Valley Restaurant, Okanogan, according to a party announcement.
Up for election are commissioner positions representing District No. 1, now held by Andy Lampe, and District No. 2, now held by Bud Hover.
“To comply with the recent Supreme Court ruling on elections, Okanogan County Democrats will hold a nominating caucus” May 3, according to the announcement.
Precinct committee officers form the nominating committee.
“If you are a (precinct committee officer) please try to attend this very important meeting,” the announcement continued. “If you know of a Democrat that you think would be a good county commissioner, please tell them about this meeting and encourage them to attend.”
Precincts in each commissioner district are available at www.okanogancounty.org/Auditor/images/Commissioner%20districts.doc.
More information is available from Jackie Bradley, 422-3723, or Peter James, 846-5800 or peterjnew@yahoo.com.
