A Twisp man, 35, was arrested April 29 on suspicion of possessing computer child pornography after a two-week investigation that involved Okanogan County law enforcement agencies and the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Okanogan County sheriff Frank Rogers said an individual in Pennsylvania tipped the Twisp Police Department to the situation.
A search warrant was obtained and a Twisp residence was searched April 25. Agencies involved in the search included the sheriff’s office, Twisp Police, Winthrop Marshal’s Office and ICE.
“Among the over 150 items seized pursuant to the warrant were four computers and a Blackberry,” said Rogers. “An undisclosed number of child pornography images were obtained from the items seized.”
The arrest came the afternoon of April 29, Rogers said.
Twisp Police chief Rick Balam “welcomes any information related to this case from anyone with knowledge of the circumstances,” said Rogers.
Balam can be reached at 997-6112, or people can call sheriff’s office detective Mike Murray, 422-7200 Ext. 7712, said Rogers.
