Prescribed burning near Benson Creek south of Twisp caused smoke to filter into the Brewster area May 5-6, according to officials with the Methow Valley Ranger District.
Okanogan-Douglas County Fire District No. 15 fire administrator Bill Vallance added that prescribed burns also took place in the Methow Valley.
Valance said he has heard no reports of an out-of-control burn.
