Stolen Choice vehicles located; one pulled from Okanogan River

Three vehicles stolen the night of May 12-13 from Choice Auto, Omak, were located May 13 - all wrecked and one in the fast-moving Okanogan River.
Burglars broke into the Okoma Drive dealership and stole keys to six vehicles, then took three vehicles from the lot, according to the Omak Police.
Officer Jim Bucsko said May 14 that the case remains under investigation. No arrests have been made.
One of the three missing vehicles, a 1999 GMC Denali, was found the afternoon of May 13 in the spring runoff-swollen Okanogan River near Brooks Tract northeast of Omak.
Okanogan County sheriff Frank Rogers said his deputies used the sheriff's office's largest boat to get close, then strung a chain through the open windows so Randy's could hook up to it.
"The windshield never broke," he said.
He said the vehicle apparently was driven into the river about 75 yards upstream from where it lodged in the river. The apparent entry point is a spot where people party and where the riverbank is very low, he said.
A 2004 Trailblazer was located over an embankment off Asotin Street, which parallels the river in Omak. Bucsko said a crane was brought from Wenatchee to haul it over the bank.
A 2000 Chevy pickup was recovered the morning of May 13 near the Magi apple warehouse in Omak. Choice manager Mike Kaiser said it appeared to have been used for some four-wheeling.
Colville Tribal Police also worked on recovery of the Denali, and located in the area a pickup truck reported stolen from Tonasket. Bucsko said it's unknown if there's a connection between the Tonasket theft and the Choice break-in.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Omak Police, 826-0383, or Kaiser at Choice Auto, 826-3000.
