State issues corrections to new fishing pamphlet
OLYMPIA - The state Department of Fish and Wildlife has issued corrections and clarifications to the recently published 2008-09 Fishing In Washington Sportfishing Rules pamphlet.
The corrections and clarifications are available on the department's Web site at http://wdfw.wa.gov/fish/regs/fishregs.htm. The department will provide additional updates and corrections as needed, according to an announcement.
Anglers are advised to update their copies of the 2008-09 Fishing in Washington Sportfishing Rules pamphlet, which became effective May 1.
More information is available from fish program customer service at (360) 902-2700.
Among the corrections are two for Okanogan County:
Page 82 - Columbia River from Wells Dam to Chief Joseph Dam.
Error: Language in the July 16 to Aug. 31 salmon fishery's additional rules section incorrectly stated that fishing is open only from Wells Dam to the Highway 173 bridge at Brewster.
Correction: The second sentence of the additional rules for the fishery should read: Open only to fishing from Wells Dam to Highway 17 bridge at Bridgeport.
Page 91 - Big Tiffany Lake.
Error: The additional rules section for all other trout incorrectly states that anglers may not continue to fish for eastern brook trout once five trout other than eastern brook troute have been retained.
Correction: The additional rules for all other trout should read: Eastern brook trout do not count as part of the trout daily limit.
