Toats Coulee Road reopens
The Meadows-Toats Coulee Road, Forest Service Road No. 39, has reopened after being closed since early June.
The road is in the area burned by the 2006 Tripod Complex Fire, and received extensive burned area emergency rehabilitation road work in the summer and fall of 2007, according to a Forest Service announcement.
Heavy spring runoff, combined with rain showers, washed out about a dozen sections of the road surface and ditches, making the road impassable to passenger cars, according to forest officials.
Road repairs have been ongoing for the past several weeks.
More information is available from the Okanogan Valley office, 826-3275.
