In the interest of public safety, the Debris Basin fishing area will be closed during crane operations for the Chief Joseph Dam log boom beginning Sunday evening, July 6.
     “We anticipate re-opening the area to the public on Saturday, July 12,” said Laura Beauregard in a news release.
     Crane operations pose a risk of accidental injury or death.
     Signs will be posted at the entrance to the area and removed once the contractor is done.
     “All other fishing areas will remain open to the public,” said Beauregard. “The Debris Basin fishing area is located at the south end of the log boom above Chief Joseph Dam near the intersection of Murphy Road and Pearl Hill Road.”
