Four new Colville Business Council members took their seats July 10 after the council said goodbye to four outgoing members.
Jeanne Jerred, Keller District, was elected to chair the 2008-09 council.
Ernie Williams stepped into Ted Bessette's Omak District position.
     Elections were held June 14.
Harvey Moses, Jr., took Brian Nissen's Nespelem District spot, Juanita Warren was voted into Doug Seymour's Inchelium District slot and Carleen Anderson took Mike Marchand's Omak District position.
Marchand, council member for 12 years and outgoing chairman, concluded his last meeting during the council’s annual reorganization. Afterward, the council expressed their thanks and honor to have worked with him.
Brian Nissen, council member for two years, also said goodbye to council, many of whom said they expected to see him back some day.
Both Bessette and Seymour were absent from the meeting.
Jeanne Jerred, former council secretary, was elected on an 11-2 vote to be the council’s third female chair. She defeated John Stensgar.
With a crack in her voice, Jerred said she was honored to be in the position.
Michael Finley took the vice chair slot in a 10-3 vote over John Stensgar.
The new secretary is Carleen Anderson, elected in an 8-5 vote over Karen Condon.

     - Michael Finley, natural resources.
     - Susie Mason, law and justice.
     - Carleen Anderson, human services.
     - Karen Condon, education and employment.
     - Ernie Williams, community development.
     - Deb Louie, cultural development.
