A California man suffered a broken collarbone July 16 when his motorcycle went off Highway 20 about 28 miles west of Winthrop, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Michael J. Franzi, 53, Mission Viejo, Calif., was eastbound around 11:45 a.m. when his motorcycle slid off the eastbound shoulder while he was going around a curve to the left, according to the patrol report. The bike struck a dirt rock embankment.
Franzi, who was wearing a helmet, was transported by ambulance to Okanogan-Douglas District Hospital, Brewster.
The motorcycle was destroyed.
