The North Central Washington Special Response team, the Okanogan County Sheriff's Office, the United States Border Patrol and the Oroville Police Department served two search warrants, resulting in five arrests and discovery of drugs, firearms, cash and paraphernalia Nov. 13.
The search warrants were the culmination of more than six months of intelligence gathering regarding the sale of narcotics and the possession of weapons by several illegal aliens in the Oroville and Tonasket area, said an announcement from the sheriff's department.
Found at the two locations were four firearms, methamphetamines, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, more than $1,000 in cash and scales associated with the selling of narcotics.
Arrested at the two locations were a 29-year-old woman from Republic, a 36-year-old man from Oroville, a 25-year-old man from Oroville, a 43-year-old woman from Ellisforde and a 36-year-old man from Ellisforde, the announcement said.
"Deputies Chris Farley and Terry Shrable did a great job of working leads and following up on information given them to put this case together," said Chief Special Operations Deputy Shawn Messinger. "Their dedication and hard work really paid off.
"I also would like to thank the United States Border Patrol, and the Oroville Police Department for their help on this case. Our good working relationships with both of these agencies really make a difference in bringing the best law enforcement services possible to our communities," Messinger added.
