A Stevens County man, charged in November 2007 with possession of methamphetamine with intent to manufacture or deliver, pleaded guilty Dec. 19 to possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine.
Daniel Lotze, 23, Colville, was sentenced to 44 days in jail with credit for 44 days served and given 12 months probation, according to Ferry County Superior Court records.
Probation conditions include not using or possessing any drugs not prescribed by a physician and not associating with any known drug users. He also is responsible for $700 in fees and fines.
He must also undergo alcohol and drug evaluation and abide by the findings.
Lotze was arrested Nov. 14, 2007, after he allegedly fled on foot after a routine traffic stop on Highway 21 north of Republic, according to court documents.
A bag allegedly belonging to him contained several small plastic baggies, some with white crystalline powder and some with white residue, four capsules containing an off-white colored powder substance, a portable scale with white residue, glass smoking devices, a pink liquid, measuring spoon and what was described as a portable methamphetamine lab - a glass container with a rubber stopper and two glass tubes in the stopper, according to court documents.
Field testing later showed the substance to be meth, court documents continued.
