District 6 basketball playoffs start Feb. 17; move to Omak Feb. 19
OMAK - The boys and girls District 6 1A basketball playoffs began Feb. 17.
For the boys, No. 1 Chelan (18-3) and No. 2 Lake Roosevelt (12-6) earned first-round byes. Games on Feb. 17 included No. 6 Omak (9-10) at No. 3 Brewster (16-4) and No. 5 Cascade (9-11) at No. 4 Cashmere (12-8).
Semi-final and final games on Feb. 19 and Feb. 21 will be played at Omak High School.
For the girls, No. 6 Okanogan (9-11) and No. 3 Lake Roosevelt (11-8) played on Feb. 17 while No. 5 Cashmere (10-10) played at No. 4 Cascade (14-6).
The top two seeds, Chelan (16-4) and Tonasket (17-3), earned first-round byes.
At Omak, tickets cost $7 for adults and $5 for students with an ASB card. No passes allowed.
Five boys and five girls Caribou Trail League teams will earn spots in the District 6/7 1A Tournament at Moses Lake High School Feb. 24-28. The top three girls teams and the top three boys team will then advance to the 1A state tournament March 4-7 at the Yakima SunDome.
