CHELAN - A 44-year-old Omak woman died in a two-vehicle crash March 7 about four miles east of Chelan on U.S. Highway 97.
Dead is Ginni L. Torres, who was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Orval K. Houtz, 67, Omak, that was northbound around 5:51 p.m., the Washington State Patrol said. She died at the scene.
Humberto Rodriguez Espino, 30, Brewster, was southbound when his pickup truck collided with Houtz's car, the patrol said.
The collision occurred about 1.5 miles north of the BeBee Bridge.
Houtz suffered a head and hand injuries, and a broken rib. Espino suffered chest and left arm injuries.
They were transported by aid to Lake Chelan Community Hospital.
Houtz was transferred to Central Washington Hospital, Wenatchee.
Both vehicles were destroyed.
It was not known if Torres was wearing a seatbelt, the patrol said. Both Brewster and Houtz were using restraints.
