REPUBLIC - The state Department of Transportation has lifted an emergency speed limit reduction on state Highway 21 from the Curlew State Park entrance to Kettle River Road.
The reduction ran from mileposts 168.4 to 181.18 north of Republic in Ferry County.
The speed limit now is the normal 55 mph, said Al Gilson of the state Department of Transportation.
DOT officials reduced the speed limit to 35 mph March 9.
Warm weather and traffic had caused pavement breakups on the highway section, prompting the need for the speed limit restrictions, Gilson said.
