OMAK - A town hall meeting from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 9, at the Omak Performing Arts Center will focus on underage drinking.
The event is geared toward families with school-aged children, Okanogan Behavioral HealthCare Prevention Specialist Megan Probach said.
The meeting will start with a free dinner to those who RSVP at 826-6191 to with OBHC staff member Jessica Litscher or Probach.
Speaker Steven Magallan, Anti-Drug Coalition of America, will address the issue, talking about his experiences in various anti-drug and prevention groups.
The event will have door prizes at the end of the program.
"Fun and sober" activities and organizations such as 4-H, Cub Scouts and the School of Karate will have booths at the event, Probach said.
The meeting will kick off the "Most of Us" campaign, which challenges the social norms that say most underage students drink, Probach said. That concept is not true - most do not drink, she said.
