John Adkins was offered the job last week from a field of 11 applicants.
As the new superintendent, he will be paid an annual salary of $92,800, school district officials said. He also will receive free housing in Nespelem and will be required to live there at least four nights a week, under the terms of his contract.
Adkins is the superintendent/principal of Soap Lake School District. He previously served as the principal of two Grand Coulee Dam School District schools – Grand Coulee Dam Middle School and Wright Elementary School.
