WENATCHEE - U.S. Highway 97 will be closed, starting June 15, at the Janis bridge for repairs.
     A detour is offered for through traffic on county Highway 7 from four miles south of Tonasket to Ellisforde. Traffic can cross the Fourth Street bridge into Tonasket, the state Department of Transportation said.
     U.S. Highway 97 is closed only at the bridge, which is getting deck repairs, so local traffic will have access.
     In the $403,000 project, Concrete Barrier Co. crews will refurbish the bridge deck. Work begins June 15 and should be complete by the end of July, the DOT said.
