OLYMPIA - The Washington State Patrol is seeking assistance from the public to locate a missing Spokane woman.
Amy Story, 24, was last seen June 22 walking off of the ferry M/V Tacoma at the Colman Ferry Terminal in Seattle after the Bainbridge Island-to-Seattle run.
Story drove her vehicle aboard the M/V Tacoma for the 2:55 p.m. sailing from Bainbridge Island to Seattle, the patrol said. When the ferry docked at Colman Terminal in Seattle at approximately 3:30 p.m., Washington State Ferry workers located an abandoned vehicle in the upper wing area of the vessel.
The Mitsubishi Galant was registered to Story. Ferry workers noted several personal items belonging to Story in the vehicle.
An investigation has revealed Story walked off the vessel when it arrived in Seattle, leaving her vehicle behind, the patrol said.
Story is described as a white female, 5 feet, 6 inches tall and 230 pounds, with medium length straight brown hair and green eyes. She was last seen wearing a green striped sweater and blue jeans.
Story's family said she suffers from bi-polar condition and may not be taking her medications, the patrol said. Story has experienced similar episodes in the past.
She was visiting relatives in Sequim and may be trying to return to Spokane.
Anyone with information on Story’s whereabouts is asked to call Washington State Patrol Detective Russ Haake, 425-401-7788 option 1.
