NESPELEM – Film and television actor Patrick D. Shining Elk will speak during the “Teach Our Children” event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, at Nespelem Community Center.
     Shining Elk has performed in “LA Mission,” “The Only Good Indian,” “The Last Samurai,” “Hidalgo” and “Nobody’s Baby.”
     He also is a stunt man, Indian cow boy and motivational speaker. He will speak at 11 a.m.
     The event is sponsored by Colville Indian Housing Authority, Colville Tribal TANF and Colville Tribal Police Department.
