OKANOGAN – State Highway 20 remains closed between Okanogan and Twisp because of the Oden Road Fire.
The highway was closed Aug. 21. It remains closed between mileposts 221 and 228, although through traffic between Okanogan and Twisp has to detour through Pateros via U.S. Highway 97 and state Highway 153 or travel across the mountains via gravel Forest Service roads.
State officials say they will reassess conditions at 8 tonight, Aug. 24.
The fire has burned two homes and several outbuildings, along with forested areas, farmland and brush.
