PATEROS - Two people were injured when their car crashed Aug. 27 on U.S. Highway 97 a mile north of the Okanogan County line.
     Joseph R. Ray, 24, Salem, Ore., was northbound about six miles south of Pateros around 2:24 a.m. The vehicle came to rest in the road, according to the Washington State Patrol.
     Ray was transported to Okanogan-Douglas District Hospital, Brewster, with minor injuries, the patrol said.
     A passenger, Jeffrey C. Smith, 24, East Wenatchee, was taken by ambulance to the Brewster hospital.
     Both men used restraints.
     The car was destroyed.
