CHELAN FALLS - U.S. Highway 97 will remain closed until sometime Tuesday morning after the Beebe bridge was damaged in a collision Monday evening, Aug. 31.
The state Department of Transportation closed the bridge after a semi-truck crash that spilled a load of apples on the bridge just outside Chelan Falls.
Officials decided shortly after 8 p.m. to leave the highway closed overnight so an inspection can be done.
A detour is available on state Highway 150 and U.S. Highway 97A through Chelan.
The closure is at milepost 235.
