TONASKET - The Okanogan Family Faire will bring trading goods, sharing arts and crafts, dancing and singing to the county this weekend, Oct. 9-11.
The event will be on Cayuse Mountain Road east of Tonasket off state Highway 20. Signs will be posted, organizers said.
Musical entertainment is scheduled on the stage starting at noon Friday. Various entertainers will perform from noon until 10 p.m. both Friday and Saturday and from noon to 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
The event, primarily a peaceful family weekend gathering that extends well into the evening, brings folks from all over the Northwest and beyond, organizers said.
The gates open for vendors at noon Thursday, Oct. 8. Vendors can show up and enter the barter circle in the order they arrive.
There is a charge for space.
Day passes for visitors cost $10. The gates are open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The walk from the day parking area through the gate, all around the fair until returning to the parking area is a two- or three-mile jaunt, organizers said.
Camping permits are $40.
No minors are permitted without a parent or legal guardian, organizers say. No drugs or alcohol are allowed.
Campers are urged to bring their own water since drinking water is scarce.
Dogs, except for service dogs, are prohibited, organizers said.
