OMAK - Regional law enforcement agencies are searching for a 21-year-old man allegedly involved in the shooting of another man around 2 a.m. Nov. 5 Sixth Avenue and Hanford.
Details are sketchy since the Colville Business Council has yet to approve a press release on the shooting, which occurred on the reservation.
But the victim, in his 20s, was shot in the lower torso. He was transported to Mid-Valley Hospital and later taken to Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane.
FBI investigators arrived this morning at the scene, where officers from the Colville Tribal Police, Omak Police and Okanogan County Sheriff's Office responded.
A sheriff's office online complaint log indicates shots and yelling were heard at 2:03 a.m. near Index Street.
Omak Sgt. Don Eddy responded and was with the victim at Sixth and Index less than five minutes later.
The suspect was last seen wearing a white shirt or white jacket and running south in an alley behind Hanford Street. Two people at the scene indicated the suspect was carrying a rifle and driving a silver Chevrolet Cobalt.
The victim received a gunshot wound to the left abdomen just above the hip, according to the sheriff’s office.
A search is under way for the suspect and his vehicle.
