OMAK - Colville Tribal Police are searching for a 21-eyar-old Omak man suspected to have shot another man Nov. 5 during a dispute at Sixth and Hanford.
Police are asking for information about Rudy Garcia, who is considered armed and dangerous.
Garcia is described as 5-6, 180 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair.
Any information on his whereabouts can be given to the Colville Tribal Police at 800-551-5800 or the Okanogan County Sheriff's Office at 509-422-7232, or by dialing 911 in county.
If located, police say not to attempt to apprehend Garcia but to call local law enforcement.
Colville Tribal Police were called for shots fired at the residence on the reservation at 2:10 a.m. Nov. 5, Chief Matt Haney said Nov. 6.
Upon arrival, sheriff's deputies notified officers that there was a man, David E. McCraigie, 22, Omak, who had been shot in the abdomen.
Witnesses indicated a man, believed to be Garcia, left in a black 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt.
Officers discovered that shortly before the shooting there allegedly was an argument between the men and a high-powered rifle was used.
McCraigie was transported to Mid-Valley Hospital, Omak, and flown to Sacred Heart Hospital, Spokane. Haney said McCraigie remains in critical condition. Relatives said McCraigie underwent an operation yesterday, Nov. 5.
Also responding to the call were Omak Police and later the FBI.
A sheriff's office online complaint log indicates shots and yelling were heard at 2:03 a.m. near Index Street.
Omak Sgt. Don Eddy responded and was with the victim about five minutes later.
The suspect was last seen wearing a white shirt or white jacket and running south in an alley behind Hanford Street, sheriff's reports said. Two people at the scene indicated the suspect was carrying a rifle and driving a Chevrolet Cobalt.
The victim received a gunshot wound to the left abdomen just above the hip, according to the sheriff's office.
