COULEE DAM – A Veterans Day event runs until 6 p.m. today, Nov. 11, at Coulee Dam City Hall.
Arnie Holt will have his Nativeteran Vietnam Memorial display set up. Nativeteran is a non-profit organization designed to start the healing process among veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and to educate youth about veterans.
The display will feature articles and photographs of local veterans.
The “Navajo Code Talkers” History Channel documentary will be shown at 10 a.m.
At 11 a.m., “Taps” will be played and a prayer will be given in honor of fallen veterans.
“In the Shadow of the Blade,” a documentary that follows the journey of a battle-scarred UH-1 Huey helicopter into America’s backyards, will be shown at 2 p.m. The film tells the stories of Vietnam War veterans and the families who waited for them to come home, Holt said.
