BRIDGEPORT - An 18-year-old Bridgeport man was arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs and paraphernalia Nov. 13 in Berryman Park.
A Douglas County deputy spotted a vehicle around 8:30 p.m. at the park, Sheriff Harvey Gjesdal said.
"As he approached the vehicle, he told the occupants to put their hands where the deputy could safely see them," Gjesdal said. "One of the persons would not immediately comply. When he finally did, the deputy could hear a thump on the car's floorboard."
Another deputy arrived to assist. Their investigation revealed the thump was not a weapon, but a marijuana pipe being dropped on the floor, Gjesdal said.
Deputies also found marijuana and what was suspected to be illegal prescription drugs.
The man was booked into the Chelan County Regional Jail, Wenatchee.
