COULEE CITY - Alcohol and speed caused the death of a 45-year-old Hartline woman Nov. 16.
Kathleen R. Springer was eastbound on U.S. Highway 2 around 7:08 p.m. when her car failed to negotiate a curve to the left, the Washington State Patrol said.
Springer's car went off the road to the right and overturned. The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected.
Springer died at the scene about a half-mile east of Coulee City. The Grant County coroner took her to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake.
Her car was destroyed.
