MATTAWA - Law officials throughout Eastern Washington were notified Monday night and asked for assistance following a triple homicide.
The Grant County Sheriff's Office was advised at 9:15 p.m. last evening, Dec. 14, that gun shots had been fired in the 21000 block of Road 24.7 Southwest two miles west of town, Undersheriff John Turley said.
"As deputies were arriving on scene, one victim was found dead and another was barely alive," Turley said.
A relatively short time thereafter, another subject was found dead lying in the middle of Road 26 Southwest between Road U Southwest and State Route 243 nearly two miles from initial scene southwest location, Turley said.
Grant County Fire District 8 Emergency Medical Services attempted to revive one of the victims without success. He died without regaining consciousness.
"All three gun shot victims were adult Latino males," Turley said.
Ages, names and places of residence are unknown at this time, he said.
Assistance was asked of the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab, which will assist in the gathering of forensic evidence in the homicides.
The Grant County Coroner and his deputy are also assisting in the investigation.
"This is an on-going and dynamic investigation," Turley said.
