OMAK – Heather Danielle Anderson, 24, possibly from California, was identified Dec. 18 as the victim of a fatal stabbing a day earlier.
     Anderson died about 4 a.m. Dec. 17 at Mid-Valley Hospital, Omak, after an assault earlier that morning, Colville Tribal Police Chief Matt Haney said. His office and the FBI are investigating the homicide.
     A 29-year-old woman was detained in the case, but Haney declined to say if she was a suspect.
     He said officers spent Dec. 17 and 18 interviewing those involved. An autopsy has been ordered.
     The incident occurred at the Lone Pine housing area on the Colville Indian Reservation northeast of Omak, Haney said.
     Omak Police and tribal police responded to the hospital at 4 a.m. An Omak report said a knife was involved and that two women had been wounded, one with multiple stab wounds and the other with a wound to the left clavicle.
