OMAK - The National Weather Service has issued an air stagnation advisory for most of Eastern Washington, including Okanogan County.
The alert will last through Monday, Dec. 28.
Areas covered by the alert include the Okanogan Valley, Okanogan Highlands, Wenatchee, Columbia Basin, Palouse and northern Idaho.
Air stagnation is expected below 3,000 feet through 4 p.m. Monday.
"Stable conditions and light winds will contribute to the potential for increasing pollution levels," the National Weather Service said.
People with respiratory illnesses should follow a physician's advice for dealing with high levels of air pollution," the advisory said.
