YAKIMA - Chelan proved too much for the Lake Roosevelt boys basketball as the Raiders were knocked out of the state 1A tournament in a 63-39 loss March 5 at the SunDome.
In a loser-out game, Okanogan girls play Lakeside today, March 5.
In the 2B tournament in Spokane, Liberty Bell (16-6) was to take on Wahkiakum 14-8) at 4 p.m. in a loser out game.
Lake Roosevelt (16-11) fell behind 28-12 at the half then fell further back as Chelan (25-2) outscored the Raiders 21-13 in the third quarter.
Jake Fury and Tanner Loe each scored 11 points. Cade Egbert added 10 points.
Matt Engstrom led Chelan with 16 points (5-5 on field goals, 6-7 on free throws) and five steals.
Joe Harris and Aaron McQuaid each scored 14.
The Raiders, who will move to class 2B competition starting next fall, graduate Scott Rosco (2.9 ppg), Jake Fury (10 ppg), Cade Egbert (18 ppg), Nate Pachosa (5.4 ppg), Tanner Loe (11.3 ppg) and Harley Frank.
