OROVILLE – A Canadian woman was hurt March 16 when the vehicle in which she was riding left U.S. Highway 97 south of Oroville.
     Margert Schneider, 73, Penticton, B.C., received a head contusion, the Washington State Patrol said.
     She was a passenger in an SUV driven by John R. Schneider, 81, Penticton. They were northbound when the vehicle went off the road’s right side, traveled along an embankment and then struck a culvert, the patrol said.
     John Schneider was not injured. Both were wearing seatbelts.
     The vehicle received about $3,000 damage.
