BREWSTER – Douglas-Okanogan Fire District No. 15 soon will have a new, bigger ambulance, purchased with a combination of grants and loans from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the fire district’s match.
     The fire district received a $50,000 grant and $120,000 loan, USDA Community Program Specialist Rose Running said.
     The new ambulance is bigger than others in the department’s existing fleet and has four-wheel drive, which is an advantage with the district’s terrain, Ambulance Chief Tonya Vallance said.
