OKANOGAN - Bill and Joan Bargen are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary July 21.
A vow renewal and reception will be at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 21, at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, 2511 Elmway. Mass begins at 5 p.m., followed by a reception at 6 p.m.
Joan Thompson and Bill Bargen were married July 21, 1962, in Superior, Neb.
They have lived in Kansas, Washington, Wyoming and Idaho. They have lived in Omak since 2000.
He spent 33 years with the U. S. Bureau of Reclamation until retiring in 1997.
Since then, he has worked as a construction manager for several engineering firms in Eastern Washington.
She retired in 2000 from the Oroville School District, where she worked as the high school secretary for 20 years.
She then worked at the Omak Clinic as a receptionist until retiring in 2009.
They have two daughters and sons-in-law, Kristi and Wayne Walker, Omak, and Michelle and Jeff Hardesty, Tonasket; two sons, Brad Bargen, Kirkland, and Tim Bargen, Vancouver.
They have four grandchildren, Shelby Walker and Caeleb, Connor and Skylar Hardesty.
