WATERVILLE - A person arrested for attempted murder in a 1996 Douglas County investigation was arrested Tuesday, Aug. 7, in Stevens County for an outstanding warrant stemming from the case.
On Nov. 25, 1996, Douglas County deputies investigated a case in which John Perry Clark had shot a male victim with a pistol that fired a .410 shotgun shell, Douglas County Sheriff Harvey Gjesdal said.
The incident occurred in the City of Waterville.
“The victim survived and the suspect was captured at the scene,” Gjesdal said. “He ultimately pled guilty to assault in the second degree.”
On April 13, a warrant was issued because Clark had not complied with the conditions of his probation, Gjesdal said.
Clark was arrest Tuesday by the Stevens County Sheriff’s Office. He was transported to the Chelan County Jail where he is being held.
