WINTHROP - The Susie Stephens Trail will be dedicated at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6.
A tree-planting ceremony, town officials' remarks and refreshments are planned at the trailhead, 208 White Ave. at the junction of state Highway 20 and Twin Lakes Road.
The trail crosses the Methow River and connects with boardwalks in the Western-themed town.
The late Stephens lived in Winthrop and was active in bicycle and pedestrian advocacy locally and at the state and national levels. She died after being hit by a bus while attending a safety conference in St. Louis, Mo.
