DELANO – Try-outs for the 2013 Miss Colorama Rodeo queen will take place Sunday at the rodeo grounds.
Sponsored by the Grand Coulee Ridge Riders, try-outs begin at 1 p.m. with a horsemanship competition in the rodeo arena on Alcan Road Northeast, organizers said.
At 2 p.m., candidates will give speeches and participate in interviews. There will also be time to meet the contestants at the following ice cream and cookie social.
Girls with connections to the Colville reservation and the greater Grand Coulee area are eligible to try out “as long as they are willing to represent the town” at various events throughout the upcoming year, royalty coordinator Debbi Achord said.
The winner of the pageant will replace Caelan Pitts of Coulee City and reign over the 2013 Colorama festival, slated for May with events in Grand Coulee and Coulee Dam, as well as the rodeo in DeLano.
For more information, call Achord at 509-631-0661.
