OKANOGAN – The Okanogan County Board of Commissioners passed a resolution on Oct. 22 declaring the burn ban lifted.
Okanogan County Fire Chief Gordon Hennigs met with other agencies to discuss it being lifted, and notified the county that it would be permissible to lift the ban as Gov. Chris Gregoire and other state agencies have done the same.
Hennigs said there has been sufficient moisture throughout the county, which has decreased the risk of fire in the unincorporated areas of the county.
It declared that a hazardous fire condition exists, and established a burn ban on outdoor burning of combustible materials in the county.
The resolution was signed by Chairman Jim DeTro, Lalena Johns, and Don “Bud” Hover.
