Obituary: Emma Lea Christensen
Emma Lea Christensen, 89, passed away Feb. 28, 2012, in Puyallup, Wash.
She was born Aug. 30, 1922, in Duenweg, Mo., to W. Albert and Nellie Apple
Emma graduated from Duenwig High School with the Class of 1939. Afterwards, she worked in Kanses City and Joplin, Mo. She came to Washington in 1944 and was employed by C.E. Blackwell and Co. where she met her future husband.
In 1946, she married Donald D. Christensen in Spokane, Wash.
She enjoyed traveling, boating, swimming, picnicking, playing two-handed pinochle with her daughter, luncheons with friends after church, bingo and watching TV.
Emma was an active member of Omak Presbytarian Church for more than 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; and son, Gary L. (Barbara) Christensen. She is survived by her daughter, Becky (Gary) Hoff of Puyallup, Wash.
Emma requested no services and no flowers. her ashes will be scattered in a variety of places.
