Obituary: Renee Christine Davis
Renee Christine Davis, 42, of Walla Walla, Wash., passed away on July 23. 2012. She was born on July 6, 1970, to Jerry and Laurie Davis of Omak, Wash.
Renee graduated from Omak High School in 1988 and attended college at Western Washington University where she graduated with a B.A. in psychology. She worked several jobs in Bellingham as a cook and, also, worked in a large garden nursery. During that time, she also spent over a year working as a phone counselor for a Crisis Intervention Team.
In 2003, Renee moved to Walla Walla, where she worked as a line cook, and continued using her counseling background, volunteering her time as a mentor for “Friends of Walla Walla”, working with foster children. She returned to the Okanogan area in June of 2012.
“Nee”, as she was often known to family and close friends, was an amazing wordsmith. A fluent and prolific writer, she used her expertise with words to write numerous stories; many of those stories personalized and written especially for family and friends.
Renee loved to read, watch good movies and entertain others with her wonderful sense of humor and unique dance moves. Renee enjoyed music, and it was a huge part of her life. It also pleased her to cook good meals for people she cared about. She was happiest camping and spending time outdoors. Renee loved spending time playing with children. She was a friend to all animals and adored her beloved cat, Simba, and her “sister dogs,” Hannah and Libby.
Renee is survived by her father Terry (Catherine) Davis; her mother, Laurie (Jeff) Harrison; a brother, Eric (Joy) Davis; step-siblings, Tom Randall, Marissa Haigh, Scott Randall and Kaylee Harrison; nephews, Reilly Davis, and Teagen Haigh; and nieces, Sawyer Randall, Alyssa Davis and Rowan Haigh.
