Obituary:Butch McFee
Thursday, September 27, 2012, Butch McFee unexpectedly left this world and reunited with his huntin’ and fishin’ buddies, family and friends in heaven.
On December 12, 1975, he married his soul mate, Sonja Foster. They were blessed with the births of their two children, Joel Craig in 1982 and Allie Jennice in 1986.
Butch was born February 7, 1953 to Lloyd and Marquietta McFee in Brewster.
Butch grew up living every kid’s dream. Armed with his B.B. gun, .22 or fishing pole, he set off on amazing adventures. By his side was his faithful gun-shy dog, Spot, who usually ran out of energy before he did. Whether on his bike or his Tote Goat, he always brought back the spoils of the day. Butch learned a lot from his elder friends. One lesson in particular “keep your mouth shut and your ears open.” This is probably why he was such a good story teller and historian.
An avid hunter and fisherman all his life, Butch lived life with gusto. Always thinking of others first, as he showed with his amazing barbecues.
Butch and Sonja spent time working in the agricultural industry. He was very proud of being a hunting guide. After establishing their business, “McFee L Good”, they took great pride and pleasure in the upkeep and caretaking of the Silver Spur Resort.
He is survived by his wife and children; his mother, Marquietta; and sister, Peggy Jo.
The family invites you to join them in a celebration of his life at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 6, 2012 at the Silver Spur Resort Lodge, 577 Old Highway 97, Brewster, Wash.
In lieu of flowers, please share a story, memory, or retell a story he told you. We ask you to provide a copy, so the family can keep those memories alive.
