Obituary:Alice Irene (Clark) Stanton
Irene Stanton of Okanogan, Wash., passed away in her sleep Dec. 12, 2012. She was a wonderful, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She lived a blessed life of 93 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; and daughter Marietta (Dave) Sweet.
Irene is survived by her brother, Bud Clark; and remaining five daughters, Patricia Stanton, Michelle (Richard) Payette, Shereen (Dale) Doughty, Danette (Larry) Whiting, and Denise (Carmen) Rosenthal.
Her life started in Grundy Center, Iowa. She and Tom eventually moved across the country and raised their family primarily in Issaquah, Wash. It was a fun time for the family as we experienced the joys and work of country living.
Mother was a woman of strong faith. She so enjoyed bible study classes and sharing luncheons with the ladies. Family and concern for all the members was so very important to her. She was a caring and generous person who always put others first. We could not have asked for a better mother.
A funeral Mass will be Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, 11 a.m., with a rosary at the church immediately following the mass. A graveside service will be held at the Okanogan City Cemetary.
Precht-Harrison-Nearents Chapel is in care of arrangements.
