Larry Mauk of Bridgeport , Wash., entered into rest March 31, 2013. He was born Harry Lawrence Mauk on Jan. 24, 1955, to Ernest (Biff) and Anna Marie Mauk at Soap Lake, Wash.
He graduated from Twisp High School in 1973 and enrolled in the apprenticeship program with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 497. He was a 40-year member of the IBEW Local 191 and has worked at Schmitt Electric, Inc. continuously for the past 20 years.
Easily recognized by his signature beard, Larry was an accomplished craftsman, mechanic, outdoorsman, and the master of all season outdoor cooking. He had many passions, but at the end of the day it was all about his family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Biff Mauk. He is survived by his wife, Tammy, Bridgeport; daughter, Joell, and Joe Langner; son, Dustin and Jaime Mauk; and grandsons, Jordan and Jaxon Langner and McKoa Mauk, all of the Portland, Ore. area; his mother, Anna Marie Mauk, Brewster; sister, Melinda Farmer, Ephrata, Wash.; brothers, Butch (Vicki) Tomlin, Roy, Wash.; Ernie (Marilyn) Mauk, Malaga, Wash., and Mike Mauk, Brewster, Wash.
A private memorial service for the immediate family, including the brothers and sisters of the IBEW Local 191, will be held at Barnes Funeral Chapel in Brewster, Wash. on May 25, 2013, at 1 p.m. A celebration of life, open to all family and friends, will be held at 3 p.m. in the Bridgeport High School Commons in Bridgeport, Wash.
