Orvilla B. Graves
Orvilla B. Graves, 86, passed away Nov. 29, 2013, peacefully in her home in Okanogan, Wash. She was born Feb. 17, 1927, to J.N. and Blanche Payne in Tenino, Wash. She was the oldest of five children.
On April 3, 1944, she married Jack Graves in Okanogan and lived there the rest of her life.
Orvilla loved to garden, sew, crochet, spend time outdoors and volunteer at the Okanogan Senior Center. She wasn’t afraid of good old hard work and she loved to spend time with friends and family.
On Aug. 10, 2013, she suffered a stroke and was lovingly cared for in her home by nephew, Doug Martin and niece Linda Payne Rhodes.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Jack; her only child, Jackie McKenzie; and only grandchild, Greg McKenzie; and two brothers, Art and Reggie Payne.
Orvilla is survived by two younger sisters and their husbands, Nita (Mac) McCallum of Tonsaket and Arlene (Halley) Martin of Omak; and many nieces, nephews and cherished friends that loved and honored her. She will be very missed.
Orvilla’s life will be celebrated in the spring.
